So after my pity party last week, I managed to pull an Anita O'Day and pick myself, dust myself off and start all over again. I resolved to:
- Actually get some work done on the mondo project that's on my plate
- Spend time with family
- Introduce myself to people at work who I don't know
- Drink less coffee because, frankly, it makes me jittery
- Suck it up and help my friends with their PR/marketing needs. I'll have plenty of time to sleep when I'm dead.
The last one was actually to get back to writing stuff here (as opposed to long winded e-mails to family and friends; much better to bore those you don't know). So, in that spirit, I'm going to give Robert's meme a shot. What you do is Google your name and needs, e.g. "Amanda needs". Then you list the top 10 results. Robert also gave me that meme with the songs when you graduated high school, and since that was tons of fun, I'm giving this one the old college try.
- Amanda needs a mom in her corner with lots of time and attention to give to her.
- Amanda needs to get help busting skulls, not new friends.
- Amanda needs a wise friend to tell her that this too shall pass.
- Amanda needs to be rebuilt.
- Amanda needs to be loved.
- AMANDA needs changes to the network services and inetd configuration files.
- Amanda needs to avoid dairy
- Amanda Needs Herself A WIDESCREEN TV
- Amanda needs to realize that she can not hold on to her children forever.
- Amanda needs to educate herself regarding the different roles of an expert witness
Here's the thing. A lot of other people have done this so a lot of the same stuff keeps popping up. Which I guess is ok. My personal favorite is number 6. Ain't that the truth.
